The Capsul Collectif association was created in 2011 in Tours by former students of the Jazz à Tours school in order to mutualize production support functions. A democratically organized structure bringing together artists, technicians and administrators, its objectives are to provide artistic teams with a working tool to promote production, exploitation, distribution, phonographic production and the external mobility of artists. Capsul Collectif carries out permanent programs for the inhabitants of the working-class districts of Tours, contributing to the fight against inequalities of access to works and artistic practices.Capsul Collectif has adopted a decision-making model that conforms to the practices in force in cooperative structures, the principle "One person=One vote" is implemented in all our deliberation processes. The artistic direction of the Collective is ensured by all the musicians who compose it, it is impossible to give an exhaustive account of the musicians' backgrounds here. The Collective is composed of 14 formations: Ymir, Nour, Circé, Steak, Orion, Baishi, Rank-O, Sololo, Jogging, Jim Ballon, Les Pompiers, Daumenkino Trio, Tournez Nadège and Electric Vocuhila. What best defines Capsul Collectif is a certain way of considering music as a creative and bubbling craft, with three main stylistic influences: traditional music, free-jazz and alternative rock. The musicians who form the Collective share a specific relationship to improvisation and to the traditions of jazz and improvised music. This shared relationship to a well-defined aesthetic corpus can be explained by the musical training that the artists of the structure have received. The artisanal approach is materialized by the groups' desire to master all aspects of the making of their music. From the recording to the organization of tours to the promotion of their work. The collective assumes a certain heterogeneity in the exploitation of the groups in a preoccupation of solidarity and defense of the aesthetic diversity.
